Former SK Gaming roster joins Immortals
It has been months since the rumors surged in the community of Counter-Strike, but the talks are now official, the five stars of SK Gaming have decided to join the Immortals to play under the prestigious Brazilian brand: MIBR.
At the beginning of 2018, there were a lot of talks about a possible departure of Gabriel ” FalleN ” Toledo’s team to the North American Immortals organization. These rumors were confirmed by many influential journalists in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene. All of these talks and rumors were supported by the team’s investment in the purchase of the Brazilian historic organization, MIBR. It made its name by its phenomenal victory in 2006, during ESWC at the Palais Omnisports of Paris-Bercy.
It was finally during an event organized in São Paulo on Saturday that the return of this new brand was officially announced! During the conference, the five former SK Gaming players were presented, wearing their new colors in front of cameras broadcasting on Twitch, but also on Brazilian television. It was also revealed that Tomi “lurppis” Kovanen, a Finnish player quite popular in the CS 1.6 scene, joined the ranks of this team as general manager.
In addition to this major announcement, the new team announced the arrival of new partners as the sponsors of Immortals which includes Mountain Dew, Razer and K-Swiss. Moreover, sports betting site, Betway is also investing in this legendary Brazilian organization. Lastly, the very famous dating application, Tinder is also amongst the sponsoring names. In addition, it has already been announced that the Plus and Gold subscribers of Tinder will have an opportunity to access exclusive events where MIBR is participating.

The signing of a new brand is not a surprise announcement from the owner of the organization Noah Whinston. He, in 2017, had signed Los Angeles Valliant to take part in the official league of Blizzard: the Overwatch League.
This MIBR side will be a force to reckon with in Brazil and will looking for a formidable start with these five incredibly talented players. The organization will surely make a mark in the competitive scene of CS:GO.
Now the mystery lies with the new SK Gaming team, which remains one of the biggest names in the professional CS: GO scene. It is expected that the Brazilian players of No Tem Como , Lincoln “fnx” Lau, Bruno “bit” Lima, João “felps” Vasconcellos, Vito “kNgV-” Giuseppe and Marcelo “chelo” Cespedes, form the new line up of SK.
The first major challenge of the team will be the traditional ESL One Cologne 2018, which takes place from July 3 to 8 in Germany. The ESL One: Cologne is a Counter-Strike Event: Global Offensive, organized by ESL, and had Major status in all its editions until 2016. The first champions of the tournament in 2014 were the Swedes of Ninjas in Pajamas, and SK Gaming Brazilians are two-time champions in the 2016 and 2017 editions.
